Refiner of Silver.

Sorry for disappearing there for a bit. We had a VERY busy week. We went to look at houses and properties for sale. We found one house that would be almost perfect. So could you all pray that we have wisdom and know Gods will?? Thanks!!

Here is a story that someone posted on a forum I am on....

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.

"You can spend life anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once."

Think about it!!

Here is my choice song of the week....

Try something a little different and read the words first then listen to the song. It really helped me to grasp what the words really meant.

What is Mean

I've been here a thousand times before...
Face down on the floor
Wondering how I even reached this place again

[PRECHORUS]
But you've shown so endlessly,
How your love pours over me,
No picture can re-create the beauty that I see

[CHORUS]
Show me what it means,
To live my life a sacrifice,
If only I would realize how much
It took to pay the price,
I know I'd always give,
Everything to you

I want this world to always see
Your perfect majesty,
Reflecting from my life this brilliant poetry

[PRECHORUS]
Written all over this place,
The signs of all creation that you breathed,
Words can't even state how much you mean to me

CHORUS

I want to face my very crime,
Of not always giving all of mine,
But I can feel the hope you bring to me

CHORUS

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day!!

Now here is my challenge....

How are we going to make our fathers have a truly happy Fathers day??? Any ideas??

Maybe try doing some extra things or taking the time to listen to him and talk to him, having good a attitude, etc

BUT! there is always a "but".... Lets make sure that we are like that EVERY DAY of the year! Not just on Fathers Day. When you say "I love you dad" do you really mean it? Actions speak loader than words!!!

Looking forward to hearing how it goes!!

Psalm 1:1-2

Well I have finished reading James and have started Psalm. I got two verses in and already I have something to think about!!!

Psalm 1:1-2 (New International Version)

Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

Is my delight in the law of the Lord? Am I meditating on it day and night?

Love it not a fight and While I'm Waiting

Love is not a fight by Warren Barfield

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we answer in
Then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word
That they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

While I'm Waiting by John Waller

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

The best years of your life!

How are you using your teen years?

A while ago I was struggling with the fact that I was "to young to serve God in any big way. I am just a teen how can I do something big for God?" Well that might be what the world wants us teens to think but it isn't true!!

Our teen years are the best years we have! We don't have to worry about half the things our parents have to think about and take care of. We have been given this time to serve God and give him everything we have so why aren't we? Well that is the question.

So what I am going to challenge you and myself to do is this... Try and do one "small" thing a day for the next 7 days. Also see if you can think of some ways to do hard things. It may not mean going out and talking to a whole bunch of people. Something that might be hard for one person might be easy for the next i.e. answering the phone ;) I DO NOT like answering the phone!!

So try it!! We only get to be teens once!! So lets use the years God has given us and make a difference!!

All good books must come to an end.

Sorry for not posting in a while. Things have been really busy lately and it doesn't look like it will slow down any time soon.

Well all good books much come to an end. I am done reading Before you meet Prince charming. I would strongly suggest getting a copy and reading it!! It is well worth it!! I wish I could point out one thing or a certain part that was my favourite but the whole book was simply amazing!!

I am now going to start reading Do hard things by Alex and Brett Harris. Both my older brother and sister have read it and really liked it so I am going to read it next. I can hardly wait!!! I will probably do like I did while I was reading Before you meet Prince charming and just read a section when I am doing my Bible reading. It seemed to work really well and I always had something to think about or try and apply through out the day.

Here are two songs that were played at my Grandma's funeral. This past week I kept remembering them.

"I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

[Chorus]

I can only imagine [x2]

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone - Chris Tomlin

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine
