How much do YOU trust God?

So yesterday I rode Prince bare back. Now to full understand how amazing that is you have to know why.

Before I bought Prince the people who owned him would get on Prince bareback when they were totally drunk and try and ride Prince. Try being the key word, Prince would buck them off and keep doing that as long as they tried riding him bareback. One time this happened the guy broke his arm and leg because of the fall. So about two years ago I started sitting above Prince on the fence or the gate, not having ANY intention of getting on him but Prince would start kicking, pinning his ears etc.

So ever since then I have been playing lots of friendly game and showing Prince that he can trust me. Now I have ridden Prince bareback but when I was up there I didn't really ask him to do a lot because I wanted him to see that I wasn't going to get up there and start telling him what to do. So yesterday Prince let me get on him, he didn't pin his ears or anything and we rode around and did almost every thing that we would do if I had a saddle on him. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!

So the reason I wrote all that was because when I woke up this morning I was thinking about it and this is what came to me.

Prince trusts me to ride him with a saddle and when we are playing on the ground, he can trust me in all those areas but not totally when it comes to me riding him bareback.

So my question to myself and all you who will read this is, how much am I/you trusting God??? are there any areas that I haven't given over to God totally and completely?

Matthew 6:25-34 says:

"“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Our Predestined Appointment with Charles Stanley

At the moment we were born, a countdown began on our lives. Every tick of the clock brings us one step closer to our inescapable appointment with God. Each of us will stand before Him as we are about to enter our eternal destination.

Tragically, there will be shocking disappointment for some. Jesus Himself warned, "Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name . . . ?' And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness" (Matt. 7:22-23).

The only way to eternal life is through faith in Jesus. Truly, our sin has separated us from the Father. But God's Son provided the solution to this universal problem: Christ lived a perfect life and then died a sinner's death on the cross to pay the penalty each of us owed (Rom. 6:23). After three days, He rose from the grave, defeating death and evil. By accepting His sacrifice on our behalf, we no longer have to live apart from God.

To receive this amazing gift, we must simply believe in Jesus and what He did. As a result, we become new creations (2 Cor. 5:17), are adopted as God's children (Eph. 1:5), and enter into a never-ending personal relationship with our Father.

Do you have confidence about where you will spend eternity? You may assume you have time to figure out this important issue, but let me give you some wise advice: Don't wait another minute to settle the matter, because "later" may never come. Repent of your sin today, and follow Jesus.

This is truly an amazing song!!! I really really like it, Please take the time to listen to it!!!

Here is the youtube link

Lyrics:

"I was takin a trip on a plane the other day
just wishing that I could get out.
When the man next to me saw the book in my hand
and asked me what it was about.
So I settled back in my seat-
"A best seller," I said.
"A history, a mystery in one."
And then I opened up the book and began to read
from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Chorus:
He was born of a virgin one holy night
in the little town of Bethlehem.
Angels gathered round him underneath the stars
singing praises to the great I Am.
He walked on the water, healed the lame and made the blind to see again.
And for the first time here on earth we learned that God could be a friend.
And though he never ever did a single thing wrong
the angry crowd chose him. And then he walked down the road
and died on the cross and that was the end of the beginning.

"Thats not a new book thats a bible," he said, "and I've heard it all before.
I've tried religion- its shame and guilt and I dont need it anymore.
It's superstition, made up tales and just to help the weak to survive."
"Let me read it again," I said, "listen closely, cuz this is gonna change your life.

(Chorus)

"The end of the beginning," he said with a smile.
"What more could there be? He's dead.
You said they hung him, put nails in His hands
and a crown of thorns on His head."
I said, "I'll read it again but this time there's more,
and I believe that this is true.
His death wasn't the end, the beginning of life
that's completed in you.
Don't you see he did all this for you!"

(Chorus)
He was born of a virgin one holy night
in the little town of Bethlehem
All the angles singing praises to the great I AM
He walked on the water, healed the lame,
and made the blind to see(eee)
(and for the first time here on earth)
Did you know that God could be a friend.
Tho He never ever did a single thing wrong,
He was the one the crowd chose.
then he walked and he died but
three days later (3x) HE ROSE!!!!!!!!

Three days later he rose!
You see he came, he lived, and he died.
But that was the end of the beginning."

Hope you guys liked it as much at I did!!

Everyone's life makes a statement...

Communicating Through Our Life

JOHN 13:34-35

Did you realize that everyone's life makes a statement? Perhaps you've never looked at your routine as anything more than merely traveling back and forth to work and accomplishing daily tasks. If so, you might wonder what message this could possibly broadcast to the people around you.

The truth is that every one of us communicates to others through our character, actions, and words. The believer's life should be an expression of glory to God while conveying to onlookers the vital importance of divine truth. Wherever we are, Jesus' light should shine brightly through us so that He is evident in a dark world. And remember, the strength of our life message is directly related to the depth of our relationship with God.

Of course, this does not mean that our lives have to be perfect. But our responses and actions should demonstrate that our heavenly Father is dependable, faithful, forgiving, and present. We are His ambassadors, representing the Savior to the people we encounter each day. Our lives are opportunities for others to see the Lord in action, as we serve others--or as we reveal peacefulness and trust, even during difficult times.

Coworkers, family, neighbors, and friends are all witnesses to our daily conduct and conversation. Every encounter we have is an opportunity to reflect Jesus into somebody's life. Ask the Lord to strengthen your faith and your walk so that those around you can't help but be drawn towards His light.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I ask myself, What are people seeing in ME?????? Remember you might be the only Bible some people read!!

Hearers or Doer?

Are you a hearer or doer?

James 1:22 (New American Standard Bible)

"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves."

James 1:22 (The Message)

"Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!"

Song of the Week!

Photobucket

Man I haven't done one of these in a while. Sorry about that. Things have been super busy.

So this weeks song is "My God's Enough" by BarlowGirl. If you go to the bottom of my blog you will see my play list. Scroll right down to the bottom of it and you will see the song there that you can listen too. It is great!

(Verse 1)
I've had enough of living life for only me
and reaching just for the things
that keep destroying me
So sick of envying the lives of so many I see
somehow believing that they have what I need

(chorus)
My God's enough for me
This world has nothing I need
in this whole life I've seen
My God's enough, enough for me

(Verse 2)
I can't explain why I suffer though I live for You
those who deny You, they have it better than I do
cover my eyes now so that my heart can finally see
that in the end only You mean anything

(chorus)
My God's enough for me
this world has nothing I need
in this whole life I've seen
My God's enough, enough for me

Who have I but You, Jesus
nothing I desire but You
my heart may fail but not You
You are mine forever

Who have I but you, who have I but you, who have I but you..ooh..you.

(Chorus)
My God's enough for me
this world has nothing I need
in this whole life I've seen
My God's enough, enough for me

"A Heart for God" with Charles Stanley

A Heart for God

ACTS 13:16-22

God's assessment of David's heart is one of the highest praises that anyone has ever received from the Lord. And this commendation is not reserved exclusively for the most beloved king of Israel; in fact, our Father wants every one of His children to have a heart for Him.

The Lord testified that David was a man who would do all His will (Acts 13:22). In other words, the chief characteristic of a "heart for God" is a passion to obey Him. Not every act of the king's life was as the Lord would have desired, but his pattern was to follow after God. And David also knew what to do when he sinned. His prayer was that the Lord would search out any wicked way in him, clean it up, and help him get back on track to become the kind of person his Father wanted him to be (Ps. 139:23-24).

David's relationship with the Lord was his highest priority. Not only did he delight in God's Word, but many of his intimate conversations with the Father are also recorded for us in the book of Psalms. In addition, the Scriptures reveal many examples of how David trusted the Lord in all the challenges of his life. This humble servant recognized that God alone was responsible for any greatness he achieved as king.

Becoming a man or woman with a heart for God is a valuable goal. Our aim is not perfection but a consistent, growing relationship with the Lord. In the process, we will discover that our desires and interests align with God's, and obeying Him will be our great delight.

Simply put...

"Together, the Old and New Testaments teach us that man's problem is sin and the only remedy is faith in the Son of God: Jesus Christ." [from Dr.Charles Stanley's daily devotional]

How simply put is that! It hits the nail right on the head!!

What a Name!

What a Name!

HEBREWS 1:1-14

he name Jesus conveys different things to different people. Depending on the individual, it can mean an historical figure, a good teacher, a prophet, or a curse word. Yet to many throughout the world, that name is synonymous with "Lord and Savior."

What is it about that name? Why do some respond in praise and worship while others react in profanity and anger? The answer is that Jesus isn't simply a person; He's an issue. And our response to who He is determines not only our way of life, but also our eternal destiny.

The name of Jesus Christ represents all He is and all He does. Scripture identifies Him as the Son of God, equal to the Father in character and attributes: He is eternal, all-powerful, sovereign, and ever-present. The Bible also says He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Col. 1:16).

Jesus came to earth as the God-man for the purpose of saving mankind. Because He lived a perfect life, Christ is the only person in history who is qualified to pay the penalty for someone else's sin. He secured our forgiveness and offers us the gift of salvation on the basis of faith.

One day Christ will sit as mankind's ultimate, final judge. Those who have accepted His payment for their sins will live with Him forever.

Have you chosen to receive Christ's offer of salvation? A transformed life now and an eternal kingdom in heaven await all who call Him Savior and King. If you've never made the wise decision to accept His free gift, why not do so now? Then rejoice in the fact that Jesus will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Well I hope that everyone had a good Easter!!

April 11 2009 devotionals and thoughts

LEAVE ROOM FOR GOD

"But when it pleased God. . ." Galatians 1:15

As workers for God we have to learn to make room for God - to give God "elbow room." We calculate and estimate, and say that this and that will happen, and we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. Would we be surprised if God came into our meeting or into our preaching in a way we had never looked for Him to come? Do not look for God to come in any particular way, but look for Him. That is the way to make room for Him. Expect Him to come, but do not expect Him only in a certain way. However much we may know God, the great lesson to learn is that at any minute He may break in. We are apt to over look this element of surprise, yet God never works in any other way. All of a sudden God meets the life - "When it was the good pleasure of God. . ."

Keep your life so constant in its contact with God that His surprising power may break out on the right hand and on the left. Always be in a state of expectancy, and see that you leave room for God to come in as He likes.

Am I leaving room for God? Or am I just taking it my way and forgetting that God might have a better plan?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Okay well I started reading James today. WOW!!!!! I got three verses in and have stopped to lick and chew on that!!

James 1:2-3 (New King James Version)

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."
I was looking through different translations and I thought that the Message Bible puts it an interesting way...

James 1:2-3 (The Message Bible)

"Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors."

When trials come what do we do? Do we say "Oh no!" and get frustrated or do we say "Oh boy!" and "How interesting" and use the trial to learn and grow? It makes a big difference what you attitude is and what you think and say when something comes up.

So next time something comes up and you are about to say "Oh no" stop and say "Oh boy! What can I learn from this, how will I be a better person when this is over?" It really helps ;) trust me I have tried it and it is amazing how God works it all out!

Celebrating Easter Every Day with Charles Stanley

April 11, 2009

Celebrating Easter Every Day

LUKE 24:1-9

The Easter story is a message of hope. Yet many people celebrate this holiday with only chocolate bunnies and egg hunts because they do not know its real purpose. The gospel is precious information that Jesus asked His followers to spread widely (Matt. 28:19). He expects that each of us will be prepared to answer those who are curious about the hope we have (1 Peter 3:15).

Christianity is unique. Other religions and belief systems have a "doer" philosophy. In other words, to achieve eternal life, a follower must follow leaders' instructions, adhere to rules, and/or give as much as he is told. The Christian life also includes good works, obeying commandments, and tithing. However, these activities are the result of serving Christ rather than a supposed method for reaching heaven. Instead of placing our hope in human ambition and diligence, we recognize Jesus as the only path to God.

Jesus Christ's primary purpose in coming to earth was to die for mankind's transgressions. Had He stayed in His tomb, everyone would be responsible for his or her own sin-debt. But Jesus conquered the grave, which means that His followers can too. Those who believe in Him are released from their death penalty and invited to spend eternity with God.

What are you doing with the amazing message of God's love? The commission to "go and make disciples" is meant to be an integral part of every believer's life. We should share about Jesus while at home, at work, among friends, or pursuing hobbies. In other words, we are to celebrate Easter every day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are you doing to share Jesus and the gospel message to the world? Are we celebrating Easter every day?

I am going to try even harder to share my faith with others. It is just to good not too.

Have a blessed Easter!!!

I hope you all have a blessed Easter!!! Never forget what Jesus did for you and me!

The Power of the Cross with Charles Stanley

The Power of the Cross

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark 15:26-32
(New American Standard Bible)

26The inscription of the charge against Him read, "THE KING OF THE JEWS."

27They crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left.

28[And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And He was numbered with transgressors."]

29Those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

30save Yourself, and come down from the cross!"

31In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were mocking Him among themselves and saying, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself.

32"Let this Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe!" Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting Him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some people jeered at Jesus as He hung on the cross. The Son of God should be able to save Himself, they taunted. These men and women thought that Christ’s death proved Him weak. But in fact, the opposite was true. The Lord’s power was so great that Jesus died with the world’s sin on His shoulders, and He arose three days later. Furthermore, anyone who believes in Him doesn’t have to pay his or her own death penalty. God’s awesome power sets captives free.

I treasure a letter from a former addict who described God’s power in his life. One night, just before drugs stole his consciousness, he heard through an open window a single sentence from a radio preacher: “No matter who you are, God loves you and cares about you.” Weeks later, while searching for a program on his own radio, he came across a familiar voice. Intrigued, He listened to that entire In Touch broadcast. What happened, in short, is that he got the message, received Christ, cleaned up his life, and reconciled with his family.

The cross’s power is life-changing. God used a phrase heard in a drug-induced
haze to prepare a man’s heart. Then, once the Lord had his attention, He yanked that fellow out of a deep pit of despair!

Human strength is insufficient to rid ourselves of sin. The truth is that we are all in need of a Savior. Jesus Christ humbled Himself to die in our place, which was not a show of weakness. On the contrary, He made the most powerful sacrifice He could—and He did it for you and me (John 15:13).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We read this at supper devotions last night. What Jesus did for us on the cross was so incredibly awesome. Dieing for the very people that were mocking him.

When I read this my heart jumped!!! I don't know why but it is just an amazing statement.

"Jesus Christ humbled Himself to die in our place, which was not a show of weakness. On the contrary, He made the most powerful sacrifice He could—and He did it for you and me"

Thank you Jesus!!!

God’s Purpose for Intimacy with Charles Stanley

Psalm 25:12-14 (New American Standard Bible)

"12Who is the man who fears the LORD?
He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
13His soul will abide in prosperity,
And his descendants will inherit the land.
14The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him,
And He will make them know His covenant."

God’s Purpose for Intimacy

READ | Psalm 25:12-14

For most of my life, I believed that the heavenly Father and I shared a relationship for my benefit. However, His primary purpose for creating intimacy with believers is to reveal Himself.

In a genuinely loving relationship, each person wants to know more about the other. As believers, we’re sometimes guilty of taking a more self-interested approach and forget that God is the rightful center of attention. Instead, we head to church or into quiet time looking for something to inspire us, motivate us, or help us.

Part of the problem is that we would like to practice our faith in the safest way possible. Bible study, prayer, and church are relatively easy, compared to stepping out in faith or enduring persecution. But to know God intimately is not a purely intellectual pursuit. A truth about the Lord is not truly ours until He works it into our daily life.

Our Father wants His children to understand how He operates. The only way to gain that knowledge is by allowing God to unveil Himself in our life experiences. That means we must be willing to go through difficulty and pain as well as happiness and peace. A man can read that the Holy Spirit is the believer’s Comforter, but he does not know this truth until he has need of solace.

The Christian life is not about feeling good and deriving the greatest personal benefit from our connection to God. Rather, the Lord builds an intimate relationship with each of His followers. In that way, He can reveal more about Himself—truth by truth—as a believer needs that knowledge. What a privilege!

Daily Devotional with Charles Stanley

Intimacy With God

READ | Romans 8:14-17

Suppose I asked you to characterize your relationship with God. Is He like a friend you meet occasionally for coffee? Or is He at the opposite end of the spectrum—a valued member of your household who is included in every aspect of daily life? Most likely, the nature of your bond falls somewhere in between.

Whatever the state of your relationship with the Lord, be assured that He wants something closer and more meaningful. God desires a connection so deep and strong that words like friendship and fellowship cannot fully describe it. He created us for intimacy.

Human beings are the only creatures made in God’s image. Like Him, we can think, reason, feel, and makes choices, though we do none of these things as fully or perfectly. The attributes that separate people from the rest of creation equip them to relate to the Lord in a unique way. Even the angels, who were designed for worship, cannot commune with the Father as we are invited to do.

Jesus called His followers “friends” (Jn. 15:15), and Paul wrote that believers are sons of God (Gal. 4:7). Those are not distant, impersonal relationships! When we spend time with the Lord, we grow as close to Him as a beloved child to a Father.

Some believers have the mistaken idea that doing something “Christian” is the way to make God happy. But the way to please our Father is by being Christian. He wants us to live in such a way that others see He is our Father and best friend.

"I'm Singing" by Kari Jobe"

Only one name lasts forever

Only one fame stands alone

Only one key has an anthem

That goes on and on and on

And I'm Singing to the God who brings redemption to the nations

Kings and oceans bow to Him in praise

And I'm Singing to the God who wrote the book on our salvation

To the One who covers me in grace

I'm Singing

Only one word in the beginning

Only one truth will prevail

Only one love brings you freedom

Only one Man took the nails

And I'm Singing to the God who brings redemption to the nations

Kings and oceans bow to Him in praise

And I'm Singing to the God who wrote the book on our salvation

To the One who covers me in grace

I'm Singing

Praise, Praise to the Savior

Praise, to the Lamb Of God

Praise, in all of His splendor

Praise, for saving my life

And I'm Singing to the God who brings redemption to the nations

Kings and oceans bow to Him in praise

And I'm Singing to the God who wrote the book on our salvation

To the One who covers me in grace

And I'm Singing to the God who brings redemption to the nations

Some thoughts for today.

"Our difficulties, our trials, and our worries about tomorrow all vanish when we look to God" [My utmost for His Highest, italics added]

"Wake up yourself and look to God. Build your hope on Him. No matter how many things seem to be pressing in on you, be determined to push them aside and look to Him." [My utmost for His Highest, italics added]

So true. But that is so hard to do and remember when you have a huge problem looking you in the face.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[From a study note in my Bible on Esther] "Among Jews, women were expected to be quiet, to serve in the home, and to stay on the fringe or religious and political life. But Esther was a Jewish woman who broke through the cultural norms, stepping outside her expected role to risk her life to help God's people. Whatever your place in life, God can use you. Be open, available, and ready because God may use you to do what others are afraid even to consider." [italics added]

Hmmmmm...... something else to think about.

"In the book of Esther, we clearly see God at work in the lives of individuals and in the affairs of a nation. Even when it looks as if the world is in the hands of evil people, God is still in control, protecting those who are His. Although we may not understand everything happening around us, we must trust in God's protection and retain ourintefrity by doing what we know is right...... No matter how hopeless our condition, or how much we would like to give up, we need not despair. God in is control of our world" [Study note on Esther, Italics added]

Well that finishes up Esther. I am not sure what book I am going to study next. I will have to think about it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday I started reading a book called "Every life is a plan of God" by J.Oswald Sanders. I haven't gotten to far in but it looks like it will be a good book.

Anyways, that is all I have to say for now.

God Bless!

"In Touch" with Charles Stanley

Answered Prayer

READ | Matthew 7:7-11

In His Word, our Father commands us to pray continually (1 Thess. 5:17). And He promises that when we ask, we will receive (Luke 11:9). Yet how often has silence seemed to be the answer to our prayer requests?

The Lord wouldn’t tell us to pray if He were not going to respond. In fact, He points out that any father who loves his children gives them what they need and what is good (vv. 11-13). As our heavenly Father, He will provide so much more. But if we want God to respond, we must meet three important conditions.

First, we need to have a right relationship with Jesus Christ by trusting Him as Savior. But some people choose to live in ungodliness even after salvation. Scripture states, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Ps. 66:18 KJV). This doesn’t mean we can never make a mistake—God understands our frailty. But we must repent of all known sin and avoid continuing in it.

Second, we must make the right requests. First John 5:14 reminds us to ask according to God’s will. In other words, we can share our desires while submitting our hopes to Him. Over time, certain yearnings may lose their appeal or give us a check in our spirit. Third, we should pray specifically and with confidence. When making requests aligned with God’s will, we can be sure He’ll answer.

Our heavenly Father tells His children to pray and assures that He will respond. As you present your requests, ask Him to show you if anything is getting in the way of His answer.

Song of the week!

Photobucket

Sorry that this is a little late. I had some technical difficulties but all it fixed now.

So I couldn't decide which one I like better so here are two songs for the "Song of the week"

Song number one:

American Dream by Casting Crowns

All work no play may have made Jack a dull boy
But all work no God has left Jack with a lost soul
But he's moving on full steam
He's chasing the American dream
And he's gonna give his family the finer things

Not this time son I've no time to waste
Maybe tomorrow we'll have time to play
And then he slips into his new BMW
And drives farther and farther and farther away

So He works all day and tries to sleep at night
He says things will get better;
Better in time

And he works and he builds with his own two hands
And he pours all he has in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are comin' crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

His American Dream is beginning to seem
More and more like a nightmare
With every passing day
"Daddy, can you come to my game?"
"Oh Baby, please don't work late."
Another wasted weekend
And they are slipping away

'Cause he works all day and lies awake at night
He tells them things will get better
It'll just take a little more time

He used to say, "Whoever dies with the most toys wins"
But if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end
I'll take a shack on the rock
Over a castle in the sand
Now he works all day and cries alone at night
It's not getting any better
Looks like he's running out of time
'Cause he worked and he built with his own two hands
And he poured all he had in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are coming crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You

Song number two:

Dive by Steven Curtis Chapman

The long awaited rains
Have fallen hard upon the thirsty ground
And carved their way to where
The wild and rushing river can be found
And like the rain
I have been carried here to where the river flows, yeah
My heart is racing and my knees are weak
As I walk to the edge
I know there is no turning back
Once my feet have left the ledge
And in the rush, I hear a voice
That's telling me it's time to take the leap of faith
So here I go

[chorus]
I'm divin' in, I'm goin' deep
In over my head I wanna be
Caught in the rush, lost in the flow
In over my head I want to go
The river's deep, the river's wide
The river's water is alive
So sink or swim, I'm divin' in

There is a supernatural power
In this mighty river's flow
It can bring the dead to life
And it can fill an empty soul
And give a heart the only thing
Worth living and worth dying for, yeah
But we will never know the awesome power
Of the grace of God
Until we let ourselves get swept away
Into this holy flood
So if you'll take my hand
We'll close our eyes and count to three
And take the leap of faith
Come on let's go

[chorus 2x]

So sink or swim, I'm diving in
So sink or swim, I'm diving in
So sink or swim, I'm diving in
