Healing Hand Of God by Jeremy Camp

I have seen the many faces,
I fear in the pain.
I have watched the tears fall plenty,
From heart ache and strength.
So if life's journey,
Has you weary and afraid.
There's rest in the shadow of his wings.
I have walked through the valleys,
The mountains and plains.
I have held the hand of freedom,
It washes all my stains.
If you feel the weight of many trials,
And burdens from this world.
There's freedom in the shelter of the Lord.

Chorus:
I have seen,
The healing hand of God,
Reaching out and mending broken hearts.
Taste and see the fullness of His peace,
And hold on to what's being held out.
The healing hand of God.

I have touched the scars upon His hands,
To see if they were real.
He has walked the road before me,
He knows just how I feel.
When you feel there is not anyone,
Who understands your pain,
Just remember all of Jesus' suffering.

(Chorus)

Cast all your cares on Him,
For He cares for you.
He's near to the broken and confused.
By His stripes,
Our spirit is renewed.
So enter in the joy prepared for you.

(Chorus)

The healing hand of God (x2)
And hold on to what's being held out (x2)
The healing hand of God
Oh Oh Oh Oh

James 3:17

17
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

Are you making time to pray?

My brother and I just got back from cutting grass and while I was walking back and forth pushing a lawn mower I had a lot of time to think...and pray. What a better time to pray and talk to God!!

A couple months ago well not even, more like 3 weeks ago when ever I was doing chores or anything that I didn't have to concentrate on I would find myself thinking about things, that even though they weren't bad they weren't necessary to think about and took my mind away from God and godly things. So to cure me of this I started praying every time I started.

I found that I was...

(1) Trusting God more because I was praying more and giving my problems, worries and everything little thing over to God
(2) I was able to pray for others and not always be praying for me, myself and I.
(3) I was able to thank God for the things that He was doing in my life instead of always asking things of Him.
And last but not least I FELT WAY BETTER!!! I felt free!!

So today while I was cutting grass I found myself praying without even knowing it! I was like "Wow!" It was such an improvement!!

So my question is, how much time are you giving God? Are you just saying a quick prayer every now and then? or are you really talking to God and having conversations with Him?

I hope you will take the time and really start praying and not just once or twice but every chance you get!! I did and I feel so much better! When ever I am worried about something or weighted down by anything I give it to my heavenly Father that cares and wants to here from me, His child.

Praying in a Crisis by Charles Stanley

This really challenged me and I hope it does the same for you too.

Numbers 21:6-8

When was the last time you got on your knees and cried out to God about something other than personal issues? We're often so involved in our own busy lives that we fail to see the crises others are facing. I'm talking about situations that don't affect our immediate family at all, rather than, say, the deployment of a soldier we know or a terrorist attack on our land. But whether circumstances touch total strangers or hit "close to home," doesn't it often feel as if such matters are just too big for one person's prayer to make a difference?

This is a lie straight from Satan. He wants us to assume that cataclysmic or tragic problems are too vast for our petition to have any effect. Scripture disagrees: James 5:16 assures us that "the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." And verse 17 provides a powerful example: "Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months."

Almighty God is able to heal, bring peace, and change circumstances. And He has chosen to let His children participate in the process through prayer. He instructs us to talk with Him about everything (Phil. 4:6) and promises to hear when sin does not obstruct our communication (Ps. 66:18).

The next time you hear of a tragedy or problem--regardless of whether it affects people you know or perfect strangers--resist the temptation to distance yourself from it. You can have an impact on the lives of others when you intercede on their behalf. So let news of a crisis become a catalyst for prayer.

The Initiative Against Despair from My Utmost for HIs Highest

This is from "My Utmost for His Highest".

"Rise, let us be going." Matthew 26:46

The disciples went to sleep when they should have kept awake, and when they realized what they had done it produced despair. The sense of the irreparable is apt to make us despair, and we say - "It is all up now, it is no use trying any more." If we imagine that this kind of despair is exceptional, we are mistaken, it is a very ordinary human experience. Whenever we realize that we have not done that which we had a magnificent opportunity of doing, then we are apt to sink into despair; and Jesus Christ comes and says - "Sleep on now, that opportunity is lost for ever, you cannot alter it, but arise and go to the next thing." Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ, and go out into the irresistible future with Him.

There are experiences like this in each of our lives. We are in despair, the despair that comes from actualities, and we cannot lift ourselves out of it. The disciples in this instance had done a downright unforgivable thing; they had gone to sleep instead of watching with Jesus, but He came with a spiritual initiative against their despair and said - "Arise and do the next thing." If we are inspired of God, what is the next thing? To trust Him absolutely and to pray on the ground of His Redemption.

Never let the sense of failure corrupt your new action.

I'm back!

Well we just got back. It is so nice to be home. It was a great trip all in all. Wednesday was the hardest I think. It was the day of the funeral and well lets just say it was REALLY HARD! It is amazing how songs take on a whole new meaning when you are mourning the loss of a loved one. Our uncle was there and was one of the pallbearers with my older brother. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze so it couldn't have been better weather wise.

The rest of the trip went really well. We saw old friends that we hadn't seen in a while [over a year or more]. My mom, sister and I went book shopping one afternoon. That was fun. I only bought one book but it was a lot of fun helping my sister carry books, add up how much they would all cost and watch her find books that she really wanted.

One think that I found hard was keeping my thoughts pure and not thinking things that I shouldn't think. But God helped me through it and today I hardly ever thought any of the thoughts. I am glad to be back home in our small town where there is less people.

On our 3 hour trip home today I was listening to the music on my MP3 player and I started really listening to the words of the songs [they were all Christian songs] and it was just amazing. Like so many times I am just listening to music while I am on the internet or in my room doing something but how many times am I really listening to the words that are in the song. They are POWERFUL!!! When you are in a van with six other people and driving down the highway with nothing but rocks, water and trees to look at [and after about 5 seconds you get tired of that ;)] you can just close your eyes and really listen to the music and realize what it means and what the song is saying.

So I challenge you to take the time and really listen to the words in the songs and not just use it to pass the time. Plus don't just listen but APPLY it to your life, if of course you are listening to good music with a good message :)

Anyways I have to go now. Lots of things to catch up on and I have to unpack.

My Child Is Coming Home

Just an ordinary day in Heaven, lookin’ down the Streets of Gold.
You can hear the strings and the angel wings, see the saints of Old. Then suddenly God breaks a smile, and begins His song,
"Look my Son is comin’ home!"

Open up the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
Build another mansion next to mine.
Everybody dance and shout for joy around the throne.
Set another place at the table.
Sound the trumpet loud and clear this time.
Halleluiah, my child is comin’ home.

Now they say the only time God sings is when a lost soul believes.
And they say that there’s a celebration there beside the Crystal Sea. And God, Himself, directs the choir and the welcome band.
And then He sings out once again.

Open up the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
Build another mansion next to mine.
Everybody dance and shout for joy around the throne.
Set another place at the table.
Sound the trumpet loud and clear this time.
Halleluiah, my child is comin’ home.

Come on, play the anthem strong.
Come on, join in, sing along, sing it strong.

Open up the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
Build another mansion next to mine.
Everybody dance and shout for joy around the throne.
Set another place at the table.
Sound the trumpet loud and clear this time.
Halleluiah, my child is comin’ home.

Open up the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
Build another mansion next to mine.
Everybody dance and shout for joy around the throne.
Set another place at the table.
Sound the trumpet loud and clear this time.
Halleluiah, my child is comin’ home.

Homesick by MercyMe

When I first heard this song I really liked just because it was a nice song but now I love it because says exactly how I feel.

Homesick by MercyMe...

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

Tomorrow we are going to the funeral for my Grandma. We are going to be gone for a couple days so I wouldn't be posting here until we get back.

Thank you all for your prayers! They have meant a lot!

A small lady with a BIG heart...

My adopted Grandma, a small person with a huge heart. She was always ready to serve, listen and give a hug!! She went to be with Jesus this morning as she was doing what she loved to do, serving others. She is in Heaven now, where there is no pain or tears.

The last time I talked to her was in February when she phoned. She had a great time talking and laughing together. She was given the best Mothers day present that could be, to see her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She will never be forgotten no matter how many years to go by, there will always be memories to look back on and I know that I will see her again, I don't know when it will be but I know that someday we will see each other and be reunited.

As my sister has so nicely put it "She is not dead, she is alive! She is with Jesus!" With Jesus! Wow! What a thought. My dear Grandma, RIGHT NOW is with Jesus. What a wonderful thought indeed!!

She has passed from this world to the next, leaving us with just the memories of times gone by, but what memories they are!!!

She has left a wonderful legacy of faith that we will never forget. Her life, actions and words were a blessing to so many and I am very blessed to have known her all my life.

Thank you for being such an amazing friend! My life wouldn't be the same with out you!! You are a very special girl and I love you!!

Random thoughts...

Today I finally had the time to read some more of "Before you meet Prince Charming". Man I didn't know how much I was missing reading that!! It was right what I needed to read today.

I have been struggling for the last couple weeks with not knowing what God wants me to do with my life. I think I was telling myself that I wasn't old enough to really serve God in ways that I would be able to do if I was older. I know that is not true but I was still struggling. So the chapter I read today was about serving God where you are and not wasting your youth and/or wishing it away and that was exactly what I was doing, wishing my youth away.

So now I have a new look at my life. I have such a great chance to serve God is SO many ways. Yes it might not be going out into the world and making a huge difference but serving your family and others around you is just a good and not just serving them but serving others with a cheerful attitude. There is a big difference!! [I hope all that made sense :)]

I love this verse...

1 Timothy 4:12
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Why would I want to be older then I am? God has a plan for my life and He has a plan for me NOW!!!

Here is a beautiful song that blessed me so much today!!!

Awaken by Natalie Grant

Sometimes I feel like I'm just existing
I'm not really living
I'm only watching the time slip away
I've forgotten who I am in You
I'm not who I'm meant to be
I'm drifting farther away from my destiny

Chorus
Awaken my heart, awaken my soul
Awaken Your power and take control
Awaken the passion to live for You, Lord
Awaken me

My soul is longing, my heart is searching
I'm desperate for You to move
give me a hunger, pull me closer
I'm crying out to You

Awaken my heart, awaken my soul
Awaken Your power and take control
Awaken the passion to live for You, Lord

Open my eyes so I can see Your presence
Dwelling inside
wake me up, 'cause I can't live another minute
If I'm not shining Your light

Awaken my heart, awaken my soul
Awaken the passion in me

Lord, awaken me to live my destiny
Lord, awaken me and shine Your light through me
Lord, awaken me to live my destiny
Lord, awaken me and shine Your light through me

Here are some of my favourite songs. They have really spoken to me and I hope they bless you as much as they have blessed me!

Lifesong Lyrics

Empty hands held high
Such a small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Chorus:
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You

Lord, I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet

So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you

(Chorus)

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You
(2x)

(Chorus 2x)

Praise You In This Storm Lyrics

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

Chorus:
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth

In Better Hands

It’s hard to stand
On shifting sand
It’s hard to shine
In the shadows of the night
You can’t be free
If you don’t reach for help
And you can’t love
If you don’t love yourself
But there is hope when my faith runs out
Cause I’m in better hands now

Chorus
It’s like the sun is shining
When the rain is pouring down
It’s like my soul is flying
Though my feet are on the ground
So take this heart of mine
There’s no doubt
I’m in better hands now

I am strong
All because of you
I stand in awe of
Every mountain that you move
I am changed
Yesterday is gone
I am safe
From this moment on
And there’s no fear when the night comes around
I’m in better hands now

Chorus
It’s like the sun is shining
When the rain is pouring down
It’s like my soul is flying
Though my feet are on the ground
So take this heart of mine
There’s no doubt
I’m in better hands now

It’s like the sun is shining
When the rain is pouring down
It’s like my soul is flying
Though my feet are on the ground
It’s like the world is silent
Though I know it isn’t true
It’s like the breath of Jesus
Is right here in this room
So take this heart of mine
There’s no doubt

You can’t be saved
If you’re not reaching out for help

I know this one has the lyrics with the video but I thought that I would post the lyrics anyways :)

Who I am

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours..
I am yours..

Well summer is just around the corner, the bugs are here, the flowers are coming up, the trees are in blossom and the grass is green and growing!!! What a wonderful sight!! [except the bugs, snakes, bees, wasps etc but that can't be helped ;)] God is so good!!! It is so nice walking outside and seeing all that God has created. It is all so beautiful!!

One of my little brothers just had a birthday! It is such a blessing having little brothers!!! and of course I love having a big brother and sister too!! I couldn't imagine my life with out my family.

I am really looking forward to this summer and all that God has planned.

Just remember...

"As long as you are breathing, He is still working out His will for you." Charles Stanley

"Maybe the cost of obedience seems too high, but what about the cost of disobedience?" Charles Stanley

So what are your plans for the summer? are you looking forward to what ever God brings along? Are you ready to serve Him when he calls?

Living in God's Calling by Charles Stanley

I know that I have been posting these a lot but this one is truly amazing!!

Living in God's Calling by Charles Stanley

ESTHER 3:13; 4:4-16

Knowing that we have a calling from the Lord is one thing, but living it out is another. Esther reached a point in her life when fulfilling God's plan became risky and dangerous. The Lord had placed her in a position of influence, but using that power could cost the young woman her life.

Few are called to be kings or queens, but we have all been given places of influence to one degree or another. The Lord has placed you in your family, community, and church to fulfill His purposes for your life in this generation. As long as you are breathing, He is still working out His will for you.

How will you respond to His calling? There are only two options: cooperate by submitting to His plan, or resist Him. Trying to avoid or ignore the opportunities He presents is a form of resistance. Maybe the cost of obedience seems too high, but what about the cost of disobedience?

Eventually, every Christian is going to encounter a situation that tests his or her willingness to obey God. When that time comes, remember the lesson from Esther. If you refuse, the Lord will use someone else, and you will lose the opportunity to fulfill His calling. Maybe you have been placed in a difficult situation "for such a time as this"--to be an influence for Christ in our dark world.

Living in God's calling isn't always easy, but it is always worth the risk. Each step will reveal the faithfulness of our Lord, encouraging us to trust Him in the next opportunity He provides. As our faith grows, His perfect timing will become evident, and we'll look with joy and expectation for what awaits us.

Loved, but Lost by Charles Stanley

Probably the most cherished and comforting of all God's characteristics is His love. However, the fact that He loves us does not determine our eternal destiny; we can still be separated from Him in our lost condition.

Because the Father cares so much for mankind, He made provision to rescue us from our doomed state of alienation from Him. This offer of salvation is extended to everyone, but in order to benefit, a person must accept it. By the death of Christ on our behalf, the Lord opened the door for us to be saved, but He does not push anyone through.

Imagine that you've fallen into a rushing river and are about to drown. I jump in to save you, but you refuse my help. Did my diving in save you? No, you did not accept my offer of rescue. In the same way, God made every provision for your salvation, but you must respond to His offer.

Just as a swimmer stretches out a hand to accept rescue, so each of us must reach out in faith, believing that Jesus died for us. Accepting His forgiveness for our sins is not just an intellectual belief. A drowning man will not be saved if he merely knows that a swimmer can save him. He has to put his life in the hands of the rescuer and depend totally on him.

Simply relying on God's love to save you is not enough. Our heavenly Father desires that everyone be saved, but many will remain lost because they fail to accept His offer. The next move is yours. Choose to believe in Christ, and surrender your life to the One who is willing and able to save you.

"Conflict is inevitable but how YOU respond is YOUR choice" Charles Stanley
